BOOT Party's Sunday Adenuga: a technocrat CV, told mostly by the party itself
INEC lists the party chairman as its 2027 candidate. His professional biography is detailed but party-sourced; his public-office record is not established.
INEC’s signed final list of candidates for the 2027 presidential election - the commission’s own document, downloaded from inecnigeria.org and read here, not a newspaper’s reprint of it - carries the entry on page 2 of three. Every page is signed by Rose Oriaran-Anthony, Secretary of the Commission. Entry 8, against BP, reads "ADENUGA SUNDAY", age 52, male, with Mustapha Usman Turaki, 40, as running mate and filed qualifications of FSLC SSCE Masters.
INEC’s register of political parties gives the Boot Party’s national chairman as "Adenuga Sunday". Chairman and candidate are the same person - one of four such arrangements on the 2027 ballot, alongside the Action Alliance, the African Action Congress and the National Democratic Party. The party expands its own initials as "Because Of Our Tomorrow". Reporting has him taking the nomination unopposed at a primary on 29 May 2026, which is what an unopposed primary tends to look like when the chairman is the aspirant.
The fullest account of the man is a Vanguard profile, and its register matters as much as its content. Promotional in tone, it describes more than two decades in senior project-management and cybersecurity roles across the UK, Europe and Africa, a master’s in project management from Northumbria University, and PMP, CRISC and CISA certifications.
INEC’s list corroborates exactly one word of that. The commission records his filed qualifications as "FSLC SSCE Masters" - so a master’s degree was filed, and the profile is not inventing the level. What INEC does not say is where it was taken or in what subject, and nothing in the commission’s record touches the professional certifications or the employment history at all.
We did not verify the rest, and the routes for doing so are ordinary ones we simply did not walk: a degree can be confirmed with the university, PMP with the Project Management Institute, CRISC and CISA with ISACA, employment with the employers. The claims may all be accurate. They are not, on this record, established, and a promotional profile is the weakest place to take a CV from.
Alongside it we read INEC’s register of political parties, which lists 22 registered parties. Only 18 of them field a presidential candidate in 2027; APGA, the NNPP, Accord and the Youth Party field none.
The party presents itself around zero tolerance for corruption and violence and merit-based leadership. That is a stated platform, no different in kind from what every minor party brings to a national ballot, and there is no governing record behind it to test it against.
What is documented, then, is a 52-year-old who chairs the Boot Party, carries its presidential ticket, took the nomination unopposed and filed a master’s degree with the commission. What is not documented is the professional biography on which his entire appeal rests. Collapsing those two things together is how a press release becomes a fact, and we hold them apart deliberately.
What this rests on
The candidacy, the printed name, the age, the running mate and the filed qualifications rest on INEC’s own signed final list, read on the page. Party registration from the INEC register read directly; candidate entry and running mate from press reprints of the INEC list; primary date and professional CV from party statements and a promotional profile.
What this does not establish
The candidacy is documented; the person is not. We did not verify Adenuga's degree, certifications, or employment history against any registry, and did not retrieve INEC's signed candidate PDF. No prior public office is documented. The party's platform is a self-description, not an independent finding.
What we did ourselves
We separated the verifiable INEC facts from the party-supplied CV and platform, and flagged that the detailed biography rests on a promotional profile rather than primary documents.
